Yolanda revealed in August 2019 that her mother, Ans van den Herik, had died at the age of 78 after a number of battles with most cancers. “RIP my guardian angel Mama. Her position as a mom and her relationship along with her kids, Gigi, Bella and Anwar, gave her the power to maintain going. “If it weren’t for my kids, I don’t suppose I’d be right here immediately,” the former Bravo personality said. “It’s so necessary we be taught to take heed to individuals, as many people are struggling in silence. We must always be taught to not decide how someone feels by the best way they give the impression of being on the surface. … Wanting again, all these tough occasions in my life had been blessings in disguise.”
