We don’t interfere in each other’s lives, says Akshay Kumar about Twinkle Khanna

Akshay Kumar is all caught up with the promotional activities of Samrat Prithviraj, his upcoming movie with debutante Manushi Chhillar. The actor recently gave an interview to a leading publication, where he spoke about his marriage with Twinkle Khanna. 

Akshay spoke about how he has kept the spark alive in his marriage. Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna got married in 2001, and have two children,19-year-old son Aarav and 9-year-old daughter Nitara. Talking about his marriage, he said that they both have contradictory personalities, but manage to make it work. He said, “It works very weirdly. I have no idea. She thinks there, I think there. We think in two opposite directions.”

He added that they both believe in giving each other space, and share healthy boundaries in their marriage. He added, “If asked, then she will give me a suggestion. If she asks me to read her column, I will read it. If she asks what I think about it; I will say this is not a good thing. If not asked, I keep myself aside. I don’t interfere with her life, she doesn’t interfere with mine.”

He also talked about the importance of balance, adding, “It is very important that you keep a balance in your life.” Akshay then went on to share an anecdote from a recent shoot at a farmer’s house, He said, “I will tell you the truth, though his house was really small, there was happiness all around, even more than mine, though I have everything. They were happy because they are not stressed out about anything. They wake up in the morning and go to work, in the evening they eat dinner before sunset. They work the entire day, their children go to a school nearby. They have managed to keep a balance.”
