(Update) Prosecutors Request A 15-Year Sentence For Former ‘Cheer’ Star Jerry Harris In Child Porn Case

According to TMZ, the U.S. Attorney office is asking the judge to sentence “Cheer” star Jerry Harris to 15 years in his child porn case.

“Cheer” star Jerry Harris should spend 15 years behind prison bars for his child pornography case … at least according to federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors stated that his actions were “horrific” but say his childhood is to blame, and this is the reason for the “somewhat lenient” sentence.

Prosecutors called Harris’ actions horrific, but noted his rough childhood also factored into their recommendation of a somewhat lenient 15-year sentence.

It’s also requested that Harris receives 10 years of supervised release once he is released from prison. On the contrary, Harris’ team is requesting a sentence of six years in prison and eight years on supervised release.

The victims involved in the case are twin brothers, and their mother spoke out about Harris’ disturbing crimes.

In an effort to put a stop to a serial predator and avert harm to other children, my sons took the brave step of speaking publicly about the sexual abuse they suffered at the hands of Jerry Harris. I will continue my mission to hold Jerry Harris and his enablers fully accountable both in the courts of law and of the court of public opinion.

She added that Jerry Harris’ guilty plea gives her “hope that the pain and grief that my sons have suffered as a result of speaking up has not been in vain.”

As you know, Harris pled guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct in February.
