Manoj Bajpayee: For me, there were many reasons to sign Gulmohar

The shooting of Fox Star Studios, Chalkboard Entertainment, and Autonomous Works’ Gulmohar is now complete and it’s slated to release in August 2022 on Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform .The film is directed by Rahul Chittella, it is written by Rahul Chittella and Arpita Mukherjee. The film’s original music is composed by Siddhartha Khosla .

The film’s incredible cast includes 3 Times National Award &  Padma-Shri -winning actor Manoj Bajpayee, Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and Amol Palekar along with Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi) and Simran Rishi Bagga in pivotal roles. The film revolves around the multi-generation Batra family who are all set to move out of their 34-year-old family home. Manoj Bajpayee leading the cast is doing a family drama after many years !! Manoj Bajpayee is choosing all his films carefully and trying out different genres all the time refusing to stick to any one kind of film and story! Rahul chittella was an assistant and collaborated with Mira Nair for 10 years!

Manoj Bajpayee also shared his excitement about starring in Gulmohar “For me, there were many reasons to sign the film, firstly the narrative of the film was extremely candid and relatable. Secondly, sharing screen space with Sharmila ji was such an honor and above all, Rahul always came across as an intelligent talent and a man of integrity! What more could I ask for? I hope that the audience too will love it as much as I love being a part of it.”

Meanwhile, Manoj has several projects in the pipeline including the thriller drama Joram, directed by Devashish Makhija, RSVP’s Despatch directed by Kanu Behl, Abhishek Chaubeys’s film with Konkana Sen, Sayaji Shinde,Naseer sir. He also lend his voice to Dr Destiny’s character for the Hindi version of The Sandman.
